Prairie Gleaners is a volunteer run, charitable organization that works in partnership with vegetable growers and packers in Southern Alberta whereby we receive unmarketable vegetables which we preserve through dehydration. Our volunteers average a ton of produce per morning, removing any blemishes, stems, and cores from the vegetables. The vegetables are then chopped into small, fairly uniform pieces which then go into large commercial size dehydrators.
